English at Monte Vista

The goal of our department is not simply to teach students the contents of books and essays; it is to help them acquire a frame of mind and a breadth of understanding that render all subjects clearer and more relatable.
 
College Prep Courses Honors/AP Courses
9th - CP English
10th - CP English
11th - CP English
12th - CP English -OR- Expository Reading and Writing Course (ERWC)
9th - Honors English
10th - Honors English
11th - AP Language
12th - AP Literature
 
All Monte Vista English classes fulfill A-G requirements for students to be eligible to apply to UC (University of California) and CSU (California State University) schools.
 
Students are required to pass 40 credits (4 years) of English classes to graduate.
