AUGUST
Fall Sports Begin:

SEPTEMBER
Welcome Back Dance:
Every year ASB throws a dance in the gym after a home football game. The dance features a theme and is free for students with an ASB sticker.

Club Rush:
Club Rush is when all the school's clubs and sports set up booths in the quad during lunch and provide information to prospective members.
 
OCTOBER
Red Ribbon Week:
Red Ribbon Week promotes drug prevention and education and serves as a vehicle for individuals to take a stand by committing to live a drug free life. 

Homecoming:
Homecoming festivities include, pep rallies and games during lunch, a spirit assembly, booths and fireworks at the homecoming football game, and a homecoming dance on the Saturday after the game.
 
NOVEMBER
Winter Sports Begin:

DECEMBER
Holiday Outreach Festival:
The Holiday Outreach Festival is one way that Monte Vista gives back during the holiday season. The festival features food booths, games, jumpers, music, performances, and a dunk tank. All proceeds from the festival benefit charitable organizations. 

First Semester Finals:
Take your Finals seriously but don't panic - that just makes things worse. Remember to relax and get plenty of sleep. Study Hard and Good Luck! 

Winter Break:
There is a two-week break at the end of December. Keep up with your homework and be ready to start school in the new year.
 
JANUARY
Second Semester Begins!

FEBRUARY
Sweetheart Dance:
This is Monte Vista's annual winter dance. It is held in the gym and is open to all grade levels. Pick up your ticket in the finance office.

MARCH 
Powder Puff Football:
Powder Puff Football is a fundraiser for the Junior and Senior classes, in which the female juniors and seniors go head-to-head in a game of flag football. Food booths and male cheerleaders make the evening extra special.

APRIL
Spring Break:
A full week off of school to help you re-energize for the end of the school year. 

MAY
AP/CST Testing:
The CSTs measure your progress toward achieving California's state-adopted academic content standards in English–language arts (ELA), mathematics, science, and history–social science, which describe what students should know and be able to do in each grade and subject tested.

Advanced Placement (AP) courses provide the option of testing to earn college credit for work performed in high school.

JUNE
Start Thinking about Next Year:
Want to join the Link Crew or ASB? Is there an athletic club team that practices in the summer? Will taking a summer school class strengthen your transcript? Explore all your options before taking off for the summer.

This marks the end of the school year. Study hard and enjoy your last week before summer!!
